Nintendo Land is a minigame collection built around the Wii U GamePad's asymmetric multiplayer. Twelve attractions pull from Nintendo franchises—think target shooting in a Metroid-themed game, cooperative ghost hunting where one player sees different info than the others, or solo challenges testing the tablet controller's gyroscope and touch screen. The GamePad holder often has a different role than those using Wiimotes, creating scenarios where one person competes against up to four others or everyone works together with mismatched information. You navigate a central plaza as your Mii between attractions. Some games work solo, others require multiple people. It's essentially a tech demo showing what the GamePad could do at the Wii U's launch, wrapped in Nintendo IP.
