About

Portal is a first-person puzzle game built around a device that creates two linked portals on flat surfaces. You play as Chell, a test subject waking in an abandoned research facility, guided by GLaDOS—an AI whose cheerful instructions grow unsettling as chambers progress. Early puzzles teach portal basics: momentum tricks, switch-pressing, dodging hazards. Later tests add turrets, toxic pools, and the Weighted Companion Cube you're forced to incinerate. When GLaDOS tries incinerating you after the final chamber, you escape into maintenance corridors covered in ominous graffiti. The back half shifts from sterile test rooms to decaying offices as you dismantle GLaDOS's personality cores while she fires rockets and hurls insults. It's short—a few hours—but every puzzle has one elegant solution, and the dark-comedy writing holds up. Good fit if you want spatial reasoning challenges without filler.
