Rogue is a dungeon crawler where you descend through procedurally generated floors, fighting monsters and collecting loot. Each playthrough creates a new layout—rooms, corridors, enemies, and items spawn differently every time. You control a single character using keyboard commands, navigating ASCII-based environments where letters represent creatures and symbols mark treasures or traps. Death is permanent; lose your character and you start over from scratch. The procedural generation means no two runs play identically, forcing you to adapt tactics based on what the dungeon throws at you. It's turn-based, so you can take your time planning moves. Rogue suits players who enjoy tactical decision-making and don't mind losing progress to learn systems through repetition.
