About

Rolling Thunder is an exhilarating run-and-gun action arcade experience that debuted in 1986, developed by Namco and later licensed to Atari Games for distribution in the U.S. This game showcases the power of Namco System 86 hardware and has been adapted for several platforms, including the Sinclair ZX Spectrum and the Nintendo Family Computer, among others. Players take on the role of Albatross, a determined agent of the World Crime Police Organization, tasked with rescuing the kidnapped Leila Blitz from the sinister Geldra syndicate in New York City. As Albatross navigates through two distinct story arcs comprised of ten action-packed stages, he can strategically enter doors for cover, leap between various floor levels, and acquire ammunition for his weapons. Starting out with a basic pistol, players can upgrade to an automatic rifle for rapid fire, enhancing their offensive capabilities. While Albatross has a limited life meter, he must exercise caution, as just two hits from enemies can spell doom—projectile attacks lead to instant elimination, though they can be blocked with skillful maneuvering.
