Sanctum 2 blends tower defense with first-person shooting across two distinct phases per wave. During the build phase, you place defensive towers and construct maze-like walls to funnel incoming aliens. Once the wave starts, you switch to FPS mode, grabbing a weapon and fighting alongside your structures to protect stationary Cores from destruction. The campaign takes place on planet LOEK III, where you'll uncover why the alien forces target these Cores specifically. You can tackle missions solo or team up with up to three other players in co-op. Success requires balancing your tower budget with direct combat—pure defense won't cut it, and neither will running and gunning without strategic placement. Fans of hybrid gameplay who don't want to commit fully to either genre will find the split appealing.
