Sonic the Hedgehog

A 2D side-scrolling platformer where you control Sonic, a hedgehog who runs at near-supersonic speeds. Your goal: defeat Dr. Robotnik, a scientist who's trapped animals inside robots and is hunting for powerful artifacts called Chaos Emeralds. The game's built around momentum-based movement through loop-de-loops, springs, and sloped terrain. You collect rings as a health buffer—hit an enemy with rings and you scatter them instead of dying. Levels reward both speed and exploration, with hidden paths often leading to bonus stages. Lose your rings and the next hit kills you. It's straightforward platforming with a focus on maintaining velocity through enemy-filled stages.
