SpaceChem casts you as a chemical engineer building automated factories that turn raw materials into specific compounds. You'll program two robotic arms (called waldos) on a grid, writing instruction loops that grab atoms, bond them, and output molecules. Each puzzle gives you inputs and a target product—your job is designing the assembly line that makes it happen. Later levels introduce multiple reactors that feed into each other, forcing you to optimize across an entire production chain. The game doesn't hold your hand with tutorials; you learn by experimenting with commands like sync, bond, and rotate. Solutions that work aren't always efficient, and the game tracks how much space and time your designs consume. Fans of programming puzzles and logic challenges will find plenty to chew on here.
