About
SNK's first soccer game pits 12 national teams against each other in a tournament for the SNK Cup. You pick a side, play through a group stage against five others, then advance to knockout semifinals and a final. Teams differ mainly by field formation—Germany, Italy, and Spain anchor Group A; Argentina, Brazil, and Holland lead Group B. Matches follow standard soccer rules with shooting, passing, and tackling. One undocumented trick: during CPU free kicks in single-player mode, tapping the second controller's A button forces a short pass, while holding it triggers a long kick. Straightforward arcade soccer from the early '90s, no frills beyond choosing formations and exploiting that hidden input quirk.
