Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: The Manhattan Project
Side-scrolling beat-'em-up where you pick one of the four Turtles and fight through waves of Foot Clan soldiers to rescue April and stop Shredder. Each turtle plays slightly differently—speed versus reach trade-offs—but the core loop is the same: punch, jump-kick, and throw enemies across eight levels. Shredder's turned Manhattan into a floating island, so you're battling through hijacked city streets, sewers, and his fortress. You can tackle it solo or bring a friend for two-player co-op. Mechanics carry over from the arcade-style predecessor but this was built specifically for the NES, meaning tighter level design and boss patterns tuned for home play. Expect crowd control challenges and pattern recognition against mini-bosses. Straightforward brawler for anyone who wants arcade action without quarters.
