The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
Top-down action-adventure where you explore Hyrule and its dark parallel world, Lorule. You play as Link, who gains the ability to merge into walls as a flat painting—a mechanic central to navigation and puzzle-solving. This wall-merge lets you slide along surfaces to reach new areas, slip through bars, and traverse between the two kingdoms. Dungeons and most of the overworld open early, letting you tackle challenges in whatever order you choose. Puzzles appear both inside dungeons and across the open world, some using the 3DS's stereoscopic depth. The touch screen displays maps and area layouts. Story involves stopping a sorcerer who's kidnapped Princess Zelda to revive Ganon. Non-linear structure suits players who prefer exploring at their own pace rather than following a set dungeon sequence.
