Trine 3 is a puzzle-platformer where you swap between three characters—wizard, knight, and thief—to navigate physics-based challenges. The wizard conjures boxes and levitates objects, the knight smashes and shields, the thief grapples and fires arrows. Each puzzle demands you figure out which hero's toolset solves it, often in multiple ways. The trio's trying to repair a magical artifact they've accidentally shattered, which has unleashed an ancient sorcerer. You can tackle it solo (switching characters on the fly) or in local/online co-op with up to three players, each controlling one hero. The fairytale aesthetic leans heavily into forests, ruins, and storybook narration. Combat exists but takes a backseat to spatial problem-solving. Works best if you enjoy tinkering with environmental interactions rather than following strict solutions.
