Wild Arms 2

Wild Arms 2 is a turn-based RPG set in Filgaia, a dying desert world mixing Old West aesthetics with fantasy. You control Ashley Winchester, a soldier possessed by an ancient demon lord after a summoning experiment goes wrong. He joins ARMS, an elite squad fighting the terrorist group Odessa, alongside a trainee sorceress and an ex-war hero. Combat uses a Guardian system—you summon powerful creatures mid-battle—plus character-specific techniques. You field three active fighters but can swap in reserves from a six-person roster. The story escalates from stopping Odessa to confronting the demon sealed inside Ashley and the fate of a world already turning to sand. It's structured around party missions rather than a single hero's arc.
