Advance Wars

Turn-based strategy on a grid where you command armies across 115+ maps. You're a tactical advisor for Orange Star, one of four warring nations. Each unit—infantry, tanks, artillery—moves a set number of squares per turn and attacks at specific ranges, like chess with guns. Missions split based on which commanding officer you pick: Andy's balanced, Max hits harder but can't use indirect fire well, Sami's infantry move farther. The campaign reveals a clone of Andy has been impersonating him to spark conflict, orchestrated by a fifth faction trying to conquer everyone. Once exposed, the four nations team up. Includes a map editor and link cable versus mode. The tutorial eases you in if grid tactics are new.
