Advanced Dungeons & Dragons: Pool of Radiance
Turn-based RPG where you reclaim the monster-occupied city of Phlan, one district at a time. You build a party of adventurers—fighters, clerics, mages, thieves—then take contracts from the city council to clear specific areas. Combat runs on AD&D rules: initiative rolls, armor class, spell slots, the works. Between fights you explore dungeons and streets, recruit NPCs, and piece together who's orchestrating the invasion. Character creation lets you roll stats, pick race and class, then watch your crew level up through experience. Expect grid-based battles where positioning matters and a single Sleep spell can turn a goblin ambush. The game doesn't hold your hand—you'll map on graph paper and rest carefully because resources don't regenerate freely. Good fit if you want tactical depth and don't mind reading combat logs instead of watching animations.
