Cryostasis

First-person horror game set aboard a derelict Soviet icebreaker trapped in Arctic ice. You're a meteorologist exploring the frozen ship in 1968, piecing together what happened to the crew through a mechanic called Mental Echo—reliving crew members' final moments to alter past events. The ship's inhabitants have transformed into hostile creatures, neither fully alive nor dead. Combat revolves around heat sources: cold drains your health, warmth restores it, and fire becomes both weapon and lifeline. Environmental storytelling dominates as you navigate claustrophobic corridors and engine rooms, uncovering the captain's choices that doomed everyone aboard. Survival hinges on managing body temperature while confronting what the crew became.
