DJ Hero is a rhythm game built around turntablism—mixing pre-recorded tracks into new mashup songs. You use a turntable controller with three stream buttons (two for the source songs, one for samples), a crossfader to balance volumes, an effects dial, and a scratchable platter. Notes arc across a spinning record onscreen. You hold buttons to hit notes, slide the crossfader to match symbols, and physically spin the turntable during scratch sections marked by arrows. Euphoria mode doubles your score multiplier when activated after nailing Perfect Regions. A Rewind meter lets you undo mistakes if you've played well enough to fill it. Career mode is solo; DJ vs DJ works locally or online. Ten tracks support DJ vs Guitar mode with compatible controllers. You can't fail songs outright, but poor performance drops your meter and mutes the track. Party Play auto-runs mixes so anyone can jump in mid-song.
