Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright

Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright is a tactical RPG where you move units across grid-based maps to complete objectives. It's one branch of a three-path story structure—Birthright, Conquest, and Revelation. Each path tells a different side of the same conflict, with Birthright serving as the more accessible route. You can grind experience and gold through optional scouting missions between story chapters, and mission goals tend toward straightforward 'rout the enemy' scenarios rather than complex win conditions. The other paths are available as paid add-ons after clearing Chapter 6. If you want a gentler introduction to the series' permadeath tactics, this is the intended starting point.
