Firewatch is a first-person exploration game set in Wyoming's backcountry during the summer of 1989. You play Henry, a fire lookout stationed alone in a tower, scanning for smoke and reporting via handheld radio to your supervisor Delilah. The job starts as advertised—watch for fires, log wildlife sightings, patrol trails—but shifts when odd events pull you from the tower into the forest below. The core loop involves hiking between locations, investigating anomalies, and choosing dialogue responses during radio conversations with Delilah. These talks form the game's emotional spine, as you're otherwise isolated. Navigation relies on map and compass; there's no combat or inventory puzzles. The Wyoming setting is rendered in a stylized, warm-toned art style. Expect a story-driven experience about two people talking through personal baggage while something unsettling unfolds in the woods around them.
