Galaga '88
Galaga '88 is a vertical shooter that expands on the original's alien-blasting formula with 29 stages across eight worlds. You pilot a starship through dimensional shifts, facing formations that grow more elaborate as you progress. Enemies now combine into multi-hit targets, hatch from eggs, wear armor that blocks shots while in formation, or drop swarms of smaller creatures. Most stages add destructible obstacles—shoot the first one to spawn a warp capsule. Challenging stages return with a twist: formations dance to synth music, and you can claim a secret bonus by not firing at all instead of shooting everything. At start, choose one or two ships, which affects your total lives. The game tracks your hit-miss ratio and shows how far you made it on the Game Over screen. If you reach the final boss, you'll see its portrait—intact if you lost, damaged if you won.
