About

A Game Boy adaptation of the physical card game where you build decks and battle NPCs to become champion. You pick one of three starter decks—Charmander, Squirtle, or Bulbasaur—then travel between eight card clubs, defeating club leaders and random opponents to expand your collection. Battles follow the standard TCG rules: play Pokémon, attach Energy cards, evolve creatures, and use Trainer cards to outmaneuver rivals. Professor Mason hands out cards between matches. The campaign's real hook is card hunting—over 200 to collect. Rarer cards require you to beat human opponents in Pop mode, a two-player link feature. If you know the physical game's mechanics, this is a faithful digital version. If you don't, expect a learning curve steeper than the main RPG series.
