Grid-based action puzzler where you place bombs to clear paths, trap enemies, and blow up destructible walls. You control Bomberman through single-player stages—dropping explosives, collecting power-ups that extend blast radius or let you carry more bombs, and racing the clock. The story pits White Bomberman and Black Bomberman against an evil scientist's robot army threatening their hometown. What set this apart in 1993: four-player battle mode on one screen. Up to four people compete in enclosed arenas, trying to blow each other up while dodging chain reactions from their own bombs. Power-ups spawn mid-match. Last one standing wins. The multiplayer's the main draw here—frantic, immediate, no complex controls. Single-player's straightforward but tests your timing and spatial planning as enemy patterns get trickier.
