About

A 2D platformer that ups the difficulty from the original Super Mario Bros. while keeping its core run-and-jump structure. You're navigating side-scrolling levels filled with Goombas, Koopa Troopas, and familiar obstacles, but layouts demand tighter timing and introduce poison mushrooms that shrink Mario on contact. Wind gusts push you mid-jump in certain stages. Warp zones exist but sometimes send you backward instead of forward. The goal remains the same: reach flagpoles, stomp enemies, collect power-ups, and rescue Princess Toadstool from Bowser's castle. Levels reuse the brick-and-pipe aesthetic of the first game but arrange them into trickier gauntlets. Luigi plays differently here—he jumps higher but slides more when stopping. Originally a Japan-exclusive Famicom Disk System release, it's built for players who've mastered the original and want punishment.
