TimeSplitters 2 is a first-person shooter built around objective-driven missions across ten time periods, from 1853 to 2401. You play as Sergeant Cortez chasing stolen Time Crystals through history—one level might drop you into a Wild West saloon shootout, another into a cyberpunk nightclub. Combat uses health and armor pickups scattered through levels. The campaign spans eras like Chicago prohibition, Soviet installations, and alien space stations, each with distinct weapon sets and enemy types. Beyond story mode, there's arcade challenges, a map-maker for custom matches, and split-screen multiplayer supporting bots. Missions blend gunfights with tasks like escorting NPCs or planting explosives. It's deliberately varied—no two levels look or play the same.
