Wrecking Crew is a platform action game where you control Mario on a demolition site, tasked with breaking down all stone walls in each stage. You navigate the level, smashing designated structures while avoiding hazards. It supports two players, with the second controlling Luigi. The game includes a level editor for creating custom stages. The original Japanese release allowed saving these custom levels via keyboard and Data Recorder peripherals, though these accessories never launched elsewhere. Each stage presents a spatial puzzle: walls must be destroyed in a specific sequence to avoid trapping yourself. It's straightforward demolition work with light platforming, no enemies to stomp—just you, a hammer, and structures that need wrecking.
