Super Mario 3D World

A 3D platformer where you race through linear stages to hit a Goal Pole before time runs out. Up to four players pick from a roster of characters—each with distinct movement traits—and work together to clear levels. The standout addition is the Cat power-up: it lets you swipe at enemies, scale walls, and pounce mid-jump. Other new suits appear alongside series staples. Levels follow the design philosophy of 2D Mario games but rendered in three dimensions, emphasizing precise jumps and timed runs. Wii U-specific features include tapping the GamePad screen to activate blocks and blowing into the mic to uncover secrets or push enemies back. Bowser's kidnapped a fairy princess, sending Mario and friends through a pipe into the Sprixie Kingdom to mount a rescue.
