Worms: Open Warfare 2 is a turn-based artillery strategy game where you command squads of cartoon worms armed with bazookas, grenades, and absurd weapons across destructible 2D terrain. The single-player campaign offers various mission types, while multiplayer includes Forts mode (defend your base) and Race (reach the goal first). You customize teams with names, voices, and loadouts, then tweak match rules through scheme settings. The DS version uses both screens—upper for action, lower for weapon selection and map overview. Laboratory mode adds three touch-based puzzles: Blow uses stylus swipes to create wind currents, Blast requires timed detonations, and Draw lets you sketch terrain to save endangered worms. Touch controls handle aiming and power adjustment. Matches reward precise angle calculations and creative weapon use as you chip away at enemy health across shrinking landscapes.
